Samsun Urethral Bulking Injections for Urinary Incontinence
A brief, non-surgical procedure that injects a bulking agent around the urethra to help improve its closure.
What is a parauretral filling?
The parauretral filling is the injection of a volume-forming substance into the tissue immediately around the urinary tract (uretra). The goal is to allow the internal walls of the canal to get closer to each other, reducing urinary escape at times when intra-abdominal pressure increases (coughing, sneezing, laughing).
The procedure is not surgery; The incision is not done. Therefore, it is one of the options that comes up especially in people who are not suitable for surgery or do not want surgery.
Who is preferable?
The eligibility is assessed after examination and tests deemed necessary. It is often spoken in the following situations:
Stress type is urinary incontinence and people who are not eligible for surgery
People at high risk of surgery due to additional diseases
People who had previously undergone incontinence surgery and partially sustained the complaint
Persons seeking a non-surgical option who wish to postpone surgery
How is the process implemented?
The application is usually completed in a short time, under local anesthesia. Several points around the urinary tract are given filler with a thin needle. Helper methods can be used if the channel is deemed necessary to display during the process.
No hospitalization required; You can return to your home after a brief observation period following the procedure.
What to expect next?
When urinating in the first days, mild burning, frequent urination, or a small amount of bleeding can be seen; These complaints usually fall short. Heavy exercise is asked to be avoided during the time recommended by your physician.
The effect of the filler may decrease over time, so after a while the process may need to be repeated; this is discussed from the beginning.
Risks and limits
As with any interventional procedure, conditions such as infection, temporary urination difficulty and sensitivity in the application area can be seen. These possibilities are discussed in detail prior to the procedure.
Parauretral filling may not be enough alone in advanced incontinence or prominent organ sagging. Results vary from person to person; A final and lasting result cannot be promised.
